Overview of Sunsport Gardens & Mid-Winter Naturist Festival of 2013

The last day of the cruise was wet, and exactly the same weather had hit in Florida, bringing in colder temperatures.
It turns out "Gardens" is an apt name. When we ventured in, what immediately struck me is how innocent the property are in tropical flowers and vegetation. It brought back recent memories of the Costa Rican jungle.
I'd previously heard several folks refer to Sunsport as "rustic." Once I saw it, I thought they must be individuals who don't get around too much. They have most of the facilities you'd expect to find at a successful naturist club, and everything seems contemporary and well-kept.
There is a playground and pool slide as well for all the children who live at Sunsport or visit. There is a pond and lake (not for swimming) and a couple of scenic walking trails.

The clubhouse is well-furnished with a pool table, sofas, two TV's, clip game consoles, and other games. It is also where the meals are served for the holiday, and folks took their plates to eat at the picnic tables only outside. On normal non-festival days, there's a cafe open 6 days a week which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. ( young nudists pics can not speak for the food because we did not have any, but the menu is on-line. Food is super affordable.) At the back of the clubhouse is a laundry room with several washers and dryers.

There are both outdoor and indoor showers, and I rather enjoyed the indoor shower room, which is largely enclosed but still lets in lots of light through the glass doors. In contrast to the customary detergent-quality soap found in public shower dispensers, theirs had organic soaps and quality shampoo.
The camping sites are scattered through the grounds, wherever there is empty lawn space. We had an un-serviced campsite situated off one of the paths, only a two minute walk far from the main area. There are lots of RV sites and trailers.
Like many clubhouses Sunsport has a policy of "nudity anticipated" (weather permitting), and it is required in the pool, hot tub and sauna area. Their general doctrine is a pleasant throwback to traditional naturism with an emphasis on balanced living, eco-friendly practices, & most importantly (to us), recognition.
They state on their homepage and in various other places: "Sunsport welcomes naturists of most ages regardless of race, faith, gender, marital status, sexual orientation or disabling condition." Most clubs casually mention that individuals of body types are tolerated, but Sunsport makes it a point to say they welcome diversity and all types of folks. We like this, given our own doctrine of recognition.
Due to the dreary weather, the festival wasn't as well-attended as it normally is. But this didn't affect the workshop program, and we still got to love a myriad of activities with friends old and new. https://s3.amazonaws.com/2023naturist/milf-beach.html of the workshops are similar to what is offered at the Northeast Naturist Festival in the summer: discussions on topics related to naturism, healthful living workshops, dancing classes, drum circles, pudding toss and numerous "new age" actions. However, there are constantly new things offered and new folks to meet at the festivals, notably in a different area.

In particular I enjoyed making my own earrings, learning a West African dance of celebration with Zen, learning how Kombucha beer is made, and listening to some live musical concert entitled "Peace, Love & P'opera" by Armand and Angelina (it was fairly unique).
In short, I'd say Sunsport is among my favorite clubs in Florida, and I highly recommend visiting if you have never been. It is also a FKK affiliate club, so if you are a FKK member under 30, that means grounds fees are just $6/day! This might function as the cheapest youthful-naturist rate in the country. Even the price for unaffiliated visitors is on the low end at $24/day.
